1st century AD. A group of well preserved thick coarse white wall plaster fragments from a fresco, with painted designs in white, grey and coral pink. For similar see Casa Dell’Ara Massima or House of Pinarius or Casa di Narcisso, VI.16.15 Pompeii, excavated 1903. 730 grams total, 7-12cm (2 3/4 - 4 3/4"). Property of a UK gentleman; formerly in the Jeger collection, Switzerland; acquired in the 19th century; reputed to be from the ancient city of Pompeii in Campania, Italy.
