1st century AD. A substantial glass unguentarium perfume bottle with squat domed body and slightly recessed underside, long slender neck with splayed and folded rim; some iridescence to surface. Cf. Whitehouse, D. Roman Glass in the Corning Museum of Glass, vol.2, New York, 2001, item 773 for type. 43 grams, 22cm (8 3/4"). From a private Belgian collection; previously part of a private collection formed in Germany in the 1990s. [No Reserve] Very fine condition.
