4th century AD. An iridescent glass vessel with bulbous body and dimpled base, funicular neck with rolled rim, applied trail handles. Cf. Lightfoot, C.S. Ancient Glass in National Museums Scotland, Edinburgh, 2007, item 337 for type. 88 grams, 14cm (5 1/2"). From the collection of a European lady; part of a private collection formed in Germany in the 1990s. Very fine condition.
