A bronze ring with expanding shoulders; inset carnelian intaglio of Mercury (Greek Hermes) wearing a petasos and holding a money bag in his outstretched hand, caduceus in the crook of his other arm. 4.38 grams, 23mm overall, 18.82x14.98mm internal diameter (approximate size British L, USA 5 3/4, Europe 11.24, Japan 10) (7/8"). From a private Belgian collection; previously part of a private collection formed in Germany in the 1990s. [No Reserve] Fine condition.
