4th century AD. An aqua glass flask with globular body, pontil base, slender neck with dark blue applied trail to the upper end, rounded rim. Cf. Whitehouse, D. Roman Glass in the Corning Museum of Glass, vol.2, New York, 2001, item 698 for type. 55 grams, 18cm (7"). From a private Belgian collection; previously part of a private collection formed in Germany in the 1990s. [No Reserve] Very fine condition.
