A bronze simpulum or ladle for holy water with deep bowl, octagonal rim with ring-and-dot motifs, elliptical-section handle, discoid finial with cross motif and loop to the reverse. 203 grams, 29cm (11 1/2"). From the collection of a North London gentleman; acquired in the 1980s. Fine condition.
