23rd-20th century BC. A group of two multi-faced bronze stamp seals comprising: one square-section with designs to four sides showing (i) a winged quadruped, (ii) a running figure, (iii) possibly a horned quadruped, (iv) an antelope; and one triangle-section, accompanied by a typed and signed note by the late W.G. Lambert, Professor of Assyriology at the University of Birmingham, 1970-1993, which states: 'Stamp Seal of Bronze, 16.5 high; 15, 15, 14.5 width of sides. this has three flat faces and is pierced down the middle. The faces show: (i) a curling horned snake, (ii) a standing bird with long neck, tail feathers down and wings raised, (ii) two rearing quadruped with bodies crossing(?"). This comes from the Bronze Age of west central Asia and dates to c. 2300-2000 B.C. It is in very good condition.' 21 grams total, 15.8-15.9mm (3/4"). The Signo collection, the property of a West London businessman, formed in the late 1980s-early 1990s; collection number Y-292, D-3, academically researched and catalogued by the late Professor Lambert in the early 1990s.
