3rd-2nd millennium BC. A mixed group of carved stone amuletic pendants; accompanied by a museum-quality impression, and a hand written and signed scholarly note issued by W.G. Lambert, Professor of Assyriology at the University of Birmingham 1970-1993, which states: 'Group of 6 amulets of stone: a) Black stone, pierced through back, dog(?), bushy raised tail, head raised, eyes drilled.b) Red stone, recumbent springing animal with raised head pierced front to back.c) Whitish stone, sitting hare, pieced through back.d) Dark stone, sitting quadruped with collar, pierced through back.e) Greenish stone, recumbent lion, pierced front to back chipped.f) Dark stone, frog ready to spring, pierced front to back chipped.All Mesopotamian, c.3000-1500 B.C. W.G. Lambert.' 13.91 grams total, 14-33mm (1/2 - 1 1/4").
