A ceramic figure of a camel with forelegs folded beneath the body, rear legs straight, neck erect and head slightly turned with mouth open; panels of shaggy fur to the hips, shoulders, neck and humps; transport frame to the back with bottles, sacks and other containers and folded cloth beneath; rectangular base. 4.1 kg, 28cm (11"). Property of a North London gentleman; acquired on the UK art market before 2000; accompanied by original thermoluminescence test certificate no.C119a76 issued by Oxford Authentication Ltd. Finely modelled, some restoration.
