A framed pair of hand-painted watercolours, each a figural scene; left: a bare-chested magnate wearing a fez sits cross-legged on a tigerskin rug with bottle, dish and flywhisk(?) spread on the ground before him, an attendant by his side and a bearded musician(?), in a palace garden with fruit trees and an open structure with onion-shaped dome above; right, two ladies rest in a garden beneath an awning, one with a sitar and the other with a flywhisk, with dishes and jars spread on the ground, within a fenced garden among trees; band of calligraphic text above each image; placed in a card reveal and glazed wooden frame, list taped to the reverse. 1.3 kg, 45.5 x 33.5cm (18 x 13 1/4").
