3300-1300 BC. A terracotta figurine of a sitting female with flexed arms and legs, broad multi-strand collar and radiate crown. 60.8 grams, 12cm (4 3/4"). Ex North London gentleman; previously in the private collection of the late David Gold, formed 1980-1990s. David Gold amassed a sizeable collection of Indus Valley pottery, both vessels and figurative during his retirement, a plaque to David and his brother was recently unveiled by Westminster Council above 43 Carnaby Street, commemorating their business that made Carnaby Street synonymous with fashion in the 1960s.
