A triangular-bladed dagger with rounded shoulders and lentoid-section blade; the hilt with lateral flanges to accept an organic inset grip to both faces and an elliptical pommel flange, crescentic guard flanking the midrib. Cf. Legrain, L. Luristan Bronzes in the University Museum, Pennsylvania, 1934, item 42. 301 grams, 34.5cm (13 1/2"). Property of an Essex gentleman; formerly in an English collection formed in the 1980s. Fine condition.
