A ceramic unglazed squat jar with narrow basal ring and gusseted rim, painted frieze depicting two opposed profile figures flanking a fire, panels of scrolled foliage and seated female(?) using a drop-spindle. 128 grams, 82mm (3"). From an important English collection; acquired in the 1990s. Fine condition, repaired.
