5th-4th century BC. A bronze fibula body comprising a D-section plaque and bow, coiled finial with pierced lug below, part of spring to the other end; the body with inscribed panel '????[..]?'. Cf. Heynowski, R. Bestimmungsbuch Archaeologie: Fibeln, Munich, 2012, item 3.12.1. 19 grams, 81mm (3 1/2"). Property of a Suffolk collector; acquired on the UK art market in the 1990s. Fine condition.
