13th century AD. A bronze heater-shaped harness pendant with pierced lug above, reserved arms of six lions rampant on a field keyed to accept enamel. See Ashley, S. Property of a Kent lady; by inheritance; found near Leybourne, Kent, UK, 2012; accompanied by a copy of a Portable Antiquities Scheme receipt. The arms of William of Laybourne (Willeame de Leiborne) are given in the Dering Roll as 'Azure six lions rampant argent'. [No Reserve] Fine condition.
