A substantial iron eel or fish spearhead comprising a flared socket with six-pronged attachment of barbed spikes, to one side a further two U-shaped attachments with prongs, one to the other, all tied together by tightly looped wire; professionally cleaned and conserved. 612 grams, 26cm (10 1/4"). From the family collection of a South East London collector; formerly acquired in the late 1950s. [No Reserve]Fine condition. Rare.
