A substantial silver-gilt finger ring comprising a broad hoop with chamfered rims, band of graduated reserved saltires to the outer face, raised discoid bezel with four radiating lobes each with a reserved cross to the upper face, pointillé border enclosing a horseman with conical helm and spear with pennon amid starburst motifs. Cf. Chadour, A.B. Rings. The Alice and Louis Koch Collection, volume I, Leeds, 1994, item 604 for type. 33.2 grams, 28mm overall, 19.64mm internal diameter (approximate size British T, USA 9 3/4, Europe 21.67, Japan 20) (1"). Property of a gentleman; acquired in the late 1960s-early 1970s. Very fine condition. A large wearable size.
