17th century AD. A pewter hawking whistle with pierced baluster suspension, inscribed 'R.W' to the upper face, 'FLY' to the underside of the mouthpiece, dried pea(?) still in situ. 31.1 grams, 75mm (3"). Property of a Nottinghhamshire collector; acquired in the 1980s. Fine condition.
