16th-17th century AD. A silver 'fede' finger ring comprising a D-section hoop with billeted band to the outer face, billeted cuff to each shoulder, bezel formed as two right hands clasped. Cf. Chadour, A.B. Rings. The Alice and Louis Koch Collection, volume I, Leeds, 1994, item 728 for type. 4.20 grams, 17mm overall, 12.68mm internal diameter (approximate size British B 1/2, USA 1 1/4, Europe , Japan ) (3/4"). Property of a Dutch lady; acquired on the continental art market. Very fine condition, polished.
