6th-7th century AD. A silver ring with round-section hoop, discoid bezel, incised cross patonce with pellet to each angle. Cf. Chadour, A.B. Rings. The Alice and Louis Koch Collection, volume I, Leeds, 1994, item 489 for type. 7.70 grams, 28mm overall, 22.33mm internal diameter (approximate size British Z+1, USA 13, Europe 30.15, Japan 29) (1"). From the collection of an Essex gentleman; acquired on the UK art market in the 1990s. Fine condition; hoop abraded.
