拍品造型、尺寸、雕工，均与上海博物馆藏明洪武至正统白玉持荷童子佩极为相似，上博藏品清理于上海松江区西林塔地宫，年代下限为正统十三年（1448），拍品亦具有典型的明代早期玉雕童子特征。
圆雕童子身着对襟短衫和灯笼长裤，憨态可掬。左手执两竿荷叶，扛于肩头，右手托一只小鸟。童子身躯圆润饱满，雕工纯熟，局部略施提油，气息古朴。上下贯穿天地孔，可穿绳挂佩。 《文化上海·典藏：上海出土文物精品选》，上海古籍出版社，2015年，页297
