Susan Hampshire has been a major figure of British film, television and stage since the 1960s, coming to prominence through her work for Walt Disney in the early 1960s. Later she starred in many highly acclaimed television series including 'The Forsyte Saga' (1970); 'The First Chruchills' (1971); 'Vanity Fair' (1973), and in the 21st century, 'Monarch of the Glen' (2000 - 2005). In 1995 Susan Hampshire was appointed OBE for her charity work with dyslexic poeple. She was made Commander of the Order of the British Empire for services to drama and charity in the 2018 New Year Honours List.
