此件香薰仿汉代妆奁的样式，盖部无钮，唯有一个“卐”字形口，结合其用处，猜测为香薰的排气口，直腹下承三足，腹部绘饰缠枝花纹样。通施青白釉，釉质滋润，是典型的模仿青白玉效果的瓷器，故有「假玉器」之称。此器仿自金银器，而青白瓷质令之更明净洁雅，造型之秀美，釉色之俏丽，构成柔和匀称的整体，极符合宋人清逸典雅的审美情趣。
