此花插主体为仿古宝瓶，方唇口，颈部饰对称如意耳，口颈与胫部、圈足分别饰对称的回纹与蕉叶纹，结构规整严谨；腹部为兽面纹，气势威严；另一侧雕有一如意口杯与宝瓶相连；底部为一整柄如意灵芝承托两器，并以圆雕手法雕刻数朵灵芝攀爬于两器上，纹饰优雅流畅，端庄中不失灵动，实为难得的清代宫廷玉雕佳品。乾隆时期宫廷制玉，除了“师古”外，其精致工艺更是令后人称绝。所谓“乾隆工”，一是用料尽奢；二是具有一脉贯穿的刀工；三是层次丰富纹饰巧丽。此拍品将这些特点表现得淋漓尽致，全器以大块籽料琢雕而成，玉质细腻柔和滋润，宝瓶造型仿古青铜器，纹饰精美，掏膛工艺十分精细，抛光细腻，非普通玉匠能为。置于案头，可追古之雅趣，更显宫廷端庄尊贵之气。配老红木镂雕灵芝纹座。
