Sui Dynasty, 581-618 AD. A high-tin bronze disc mirror with one polished face, central pierced boss surrounded by two running hunting dogs and a band of text separated by a raised ring. Cf. similar sold at Christie's, Hong Kong in 2012. 484 grams, 15cm (6"). Property of a London doctor; previously in the collection of her husband by inheritance; formerly acquired during travels in the Far East during the 1920s.
