4th-3rd century AD. A substantial squat ceramic jar with everted rim, bands of circumferential linear ornament and frieze to the shoulder with zebu and foliage. 2.6 kg, 28cm (11"). From the property of a London gentleman; previously in the private collection of the late David Gold, formed 1970s. 'David Gold amassed a sizable collection of Indus Valley pottery, both vessels and figurative during his retirement, a plaque to David and his brother was recently unveiled by Westminster Council above 43 Carnaby Street, commemorating their business that made Carnaby Street synonymous with fashion in the 1960s.'
