来源：香港佳士得，2001年10月29日，拍品767号款识：“大明宣德年制”款本炉器型为桥耳炉，体形适中，通体洒金，口沿凸出圆润，其上对饰矮短双桥耳。腰部收束，扁圆鼓腹，平底，下承三乳足鼎立。内膛平整，烧结老道。底落“大明宣德年制”六字三行楷书款，边框规正，字体端正大方，颇有碑体金石之气。器身上有一镂雕莲纹木盖，盖钮为以白玉质童子，顾首回望，生动可爱。桥耳炉造型别致，是宣德炉中广受喜爱、流行最广者。据《宣德鼎彝谱》载，桥耳炉是赐以国子监祭酒。《国朝会典》称“国子祭酒掌国学，举人贡士，以及勋臣胄子教训之事，奉监规而损益焉……为朝廷教育人才重秩焉。”并称汉明帝时，命博士祭酒讲经史，士人环向桥门而听，其人数以万计。故以桥耳款式代表“环桥听讲”。
