A bronze socketted axehead with rounded mouth, three vertical lines to each face and lateral casting seams, pelta-shaped edge and large lateral loop; with two worked pieces of Preseli bluestone and explanatory note. 562 grams, 7-10cm (2 3/4 - 4"). Property of a Norfolk collector; acquired on the UK art market; formerly acquired from a Cheltenham gentleman circa 1989; by repute found as part of a hoard in Herefordshire, UK, in the late 1980s; accompanied by a copy of a collector's information sheet.
