Permian Age, 280 million years BP. A fossil Branchiosaur Apateon pedestris larva in matrix. 77.7 grams, 96mm (3 3/4"). From an old Bristol palaeontological collection; acquired 1950s-1960s; from Pfalz Formation, Odernheim, Germany. Branchiosaurs were a primitive amphibian, semi aquatic and represent one of first animals to move onto the land. [No Reserve]
