Chinese Ming Dynasty Period, Jiajing porcelain porcelain double gourd vase. The Chinese porcelain potted in a shape of double gourd resemblance, with two bulbous bellies conjoined together, bulbous lower section finishing into a slender bottleneck at the top, suspending cylindrical neck, with a straight opening lip, raised on slightly short splayed foot base and slightly concave. All reserved hand painted ornamentations are rendered in green peacock under glazed base color which contrast against the iron red fine color. The Exterior adorned with lotus flowers blooms interspersed scrolling interlocking tendril, each section banded and enclosed with double fine red rings lines. Double gourd is close to fulu - fu being blessings, and lu being an official salary - hence it is associated with good fortune and wealth. The colors are harmonious, elegant and exquisite, the composition is sophisticated, simply a feast for the eye. The clay is very fine, with a brilliant glaze finish that was applied by a meticulous, the shape is uniformly proportioned.
