Chinese Qing Dynasty Period, Yongzheng blue & red dragon bowl. The porcelain potted with a shallow body, slight deep, broad cavetto, with a straight opening lip, raised on a small round, with concave footing. All reserved in hand painting ornamentations, rendered in clean white under glazed ground color which contrast against the cobalt blue and red fine color. The Exterior adorned with snarling huge imperial five claws dragon careening through cumulus clouds above thrashing Li-shui waves in a red fine color dragon squama to chasing flaming pearl amidst flames. Enclosed with repeating Geometric pattern and double fine blue ring on the foot base rim. Dragon is the symbol of the Emperor, the Son of Heaven, eternity, Yang and Yin, male vigor and fecundity, the Li-shui wave pattern which is known to be the abode of dragons. The porcelain displays a subtle sheen across the finely glazed exterior. The clay is very fine, with a brilliant glaze finish that was applied by a meticulous, the shape is uniformly proportioned. Mark on under base, a vertical six under glazed blue script characters reign mark, enclosed within double fine rings, YongZheng Reign Period of Great Qing Dynasty.
