Chinese Qing Dynasty Period, Qianlong blue & white dragon wrapped floral motif porcelain lidded box. Stoutly potted Chinese porcelain unto a slightly flattened round box, with rounded wide cavetto, globular, correspondence dome lid, raised from rounded sides over a wide cavetto Inner flange circumscribed around the containers lip allows for a perfect fitment of the covering, with slighty flaring open mouth lip. All reserved hand painted ornamentations are rendered in clean white under glaze base color which contrast against the cobalt blue fine color. The dome lid and the lower belly adorned with snarling huge imperial five claws dragon careening through scrolling interlocking tendril, foliage and flowers blooms in a dark blue color dragon squama to chasing flaming pearl amidst flames, enclosed with double fine rings. Dragon is the symbol of the Emperor, the Son of Heaven, eternity, Yang and Yin, male vigor and fecundity, the Li-Shui wave pattern which is known to be the abode of dragons. The clay is very fine, with a brilliant glaze finish that was applied by a meticulous, the shape is uniformly proportioned.
