A rectangular bronze casket with four angled feet, openwork sides with tendrils, leaves and flowers, band of calligraphic text to the shoulder of the stepped lid and sidewall below; drop handle with guilloche design; hinge fittings, linchpins absent. 1.9 kg, 18.5cm (7 1/4"). From the family collection of a Hampstead gentleman; formerly acquired in the 1980s.
