Early 1st millennium BC. A bronze dagger blade with scooped lateral profile, shoulder with lateral notches; complete with two fixing rivets. Cf. Burgess, C. & Gerloff, S. The Dirks and Rapiers of Great Britain and Ireland, Prähistorische Bronzefunde, vol.4, 1981, pl.83 (637"). 41.1 grams, 13.7cm (5 1/2"). The Chris Rudd collection, Norfolk, UK; formed since the 1970s; found near Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire, UK, c. 2015; accompanied by Chris Rudd collector's notes and ticket for item BA26. The dagger resembles in outline the Bronze rapier type exemplified by Type Appleby, Variant South Kyme.
