A George III silver circular salver by Robert Jones I, London 1782, with a beaded rim, on three bead outlined bracket feet, engraved with an armorial hung from a tied ribbon within a flowering foliate wreath, 23cm (9in) diameter, 468g (15.05 oz) Provenance: From the estate of Christopher and Rosemary Warren The arms as seen blazon as: ....., three bends wavy ..... There are a number of possible families: GODSCHALL (azure-argent), ISBERY or ISBURY (argent-sable), LUTTON (argent-gules), PATER (argent-gules), WILBRAM (argent-azure), WILBURCHAM (argent-azure) as well as the PATER or PAYTER (argent-azure) family of Suffolk. Two of which can be eliminated: LUTTON (arms granted 1809) and PATER (arms granted 1811). Sold together with a sales guarantee from S. Kozminsky & Co. of Melbourne dated March 1st 1933 and a watercolour and pen and ink heraldic description of dubious import.
