Paar große figürlich gestaltete Vestibülkandelaber

Cast signature on the plinth with inscription "Joan Fr. Lorta 1788" (Jean-Pierre-François Lorta, 1752-1837).

Worked as space-dominating counterparts. Female figures dressed in antique costumes in burnished bronze casting, each standing on a round base. They carry a gilded candelabra in the form of a fluted quiver-like shaft from which a large bouquet of lilies with leaves, buds and flowers sprouts, each with five flames. The central flower spout is raised, bound by a plaited wreath of flowers and fruit. The figural plinths on a square reddish marble slab over a gilded bronze base with short stud feet and leaf frieze.
