In a grey interior with stone floor, around a simple table, some men are sitting at a card game, which is attended by two seated women. On the right side a sitting elegant couple, they in an armchair with a long shiny red and black dress and a big white lace collar, holding a glass of wine in their right hand. The man in elegant clothes with a big black hat and also a big white collar decorated with lace. Behind them on the wall a chest, while on the lower right side of the picture a reddish coat has been placed. On the left side of the picture a standing woman looking with interest at the game at the table, while a seated man smoking a pipe turns his back to her. In the foreground left on the floor a large broad shiny copper bowl, surrounded by vine leaves, in which a reddish bottle stands. A black and white dog lying next to it seems to be guarding this bottle. Painting in predominantly monochrome colours, but the clothing of the seated couple is excellently rendered.
