In the frame of a brown stone window decorated with cartouche, a boy with shoulder-length brown hair, on the window heel, holding in his right hand a large pewter lantern. In his narrow delicate left hand a white candle, the fire of which has already gone out. With his delicate face, slightly reddened lips and attentive dark eyes, he looks out of the picture at the observer. Painting in which the oversized shining lantern and the fine face of the boy are particularly emphasized. (1222119) (18)
