There the service box is described in the text as "Objeto muy interessante" from the possession of Fernando VII, in one of the showcases of the Salón principale. With illustration of the showcase. Accordingly, the service is from the last descendant of Christopher Columbus, from King Louis Fernando VII, to the Duque d'Alba family. Acquired from the aforementioned property in 1945. Enclosed photocopied article from 1925.
The service consists of six parts: Mocha lid jug, milk lid jug, mocha cup with saucer, small pastry tray and large curved flat bowl with side handles. The background and sides of the jug are decorated with a cardinal pink field framed by gold rocaille, with depictions of putti on cloud banks in grisaille painting. The edges are bordered by fine bundles of stripes, surrounded by golden leaves with pink and gold lines. The knobs on the lid are fully sculpted in the form of a flower bud with leaves. The handles and the spouts are gilded. The serving plate is particularly richly decorated with additional curving outer bands of raised white relief leaves that run across the gilding. Each with a blue banded shield mark. The service pieces inserted in an octagonal box covered with punched leather. The interior divisions are recessed and covered with gold thread ribbons. The bronze handles on the sides of the box are movable, and there are also locking hooks. The former front lock is missing. The leather hallmark shows rocaille cartouches with latticework, the edges with gilded embossing.
