A 'FOREIGNER TEASING BUDDHIST LIONS' JADE GROUP, KANGXI PERIOD China, 1662-1722. The translucent celadon jade is mottled with darkbrown, russet and mushroom-colored inclusions. The finely carved work shows a foreigner holding a brocade ball with its bands as well as two Buddhist lion cubs chasing the ball. Provenance: From an English private estate. Condition: Good condition with some old wear and minor areas of natural erosion to the mineral. Fine patina.
