Late Period, 664-332 BC. A pair pale green glazed composition shabtis each with finely modelled facial features, tripartite wig and plaited beard; hands crossed, holding agricultural implements and seed bag to the left shoulder; undecorated dorsal pillar and square base, circumferential band of hieroglyphic text to the waist and vertical band to the lower body; mounted on a custom-made display stand. 285 grams total, 16cm each including stand (6 1/4"). Property of a private New York collection; formerly in a private US collection, acquired in the early 1980s.[2]
