A substantial bronze short sword with broad triangular, double-edged blade and central midrib; crescent guard to the shoulders; square-section grip with cells to accept inserts(?), and domed stone pommel. Cf. Khorasani, M.M., Arms and Armour from Iran. The Bronze Age to the End of the Qajar Period, Tübingen, 2006, cat.35, for type.917 grams, 60cm (23 1/2"). From the property of a London gentleman; formerly in a UK collection, acquired in the 1990s.
