A substantial gilt-bronze figure of Buddha sitting cross-legged on a tiered base with lotus petal detailing, with right hand resting on his knee, fingertips touching the earth (Bhumisparsha mudra) and left palm-upwards in his lap; the face serene with wide eyes, ushnisha and inset glass(?) cabochon studs. 7.3kg, 40cm (15 3/4"). Ex North London gentleman; formerly in a private collection formed between 1990 and 2000.
