A matched pair of gilt copper-alloy armour epaulettes of curved lentoid shape, the outer surfaces heavily engraved with a floral and foliage pattern, the edges deckled and pierced for sewing to fabric backing, one with surviving gilt rosette fasteners and links. 247 grams total, 16-16.4cm (6 1/4 - 6 1/2"). Property of a Middlesex collector; acquired on the London art market before 2000; formerly in an old English collection. [2]
