Ltd, 24cm (9 1/2in) x 17.5cm (6 7/8in) overall. test Edward Frederick Lindley Wood, 1st Earl of Halifax, KG, OM, GCSI, GCMG, GCIE, TD, PC (1881-1959), styled the 1st Baron Irwin from 1925 until 1934 and The 3rd Viscount Halifax from 1934 until 1944, was a senior British Conservative politician of the 1930s. He held several senior ministerial posts during this time, most notably those of Viceroy of India from 1925 to 1931, as in the present photograph, and of Foreign Secretary between 1938 and 1940. From 1941 to 1946, he served as Ambassador to Washington.
