A Derby polychrome Chinese Export style coffee cup, circa 1765, painted and gilt in the famille rose palette, 6cm high; and another Derby fluted coffee cup, circa 1765, painted in the Worcester manner with a version of the 'Scarlet Japan' pattern, 6cm high (2) Provenance: A private English collection and by descent. Both purchased, Phillips Auctioneers, London, The Watney Collection, the famille rose cup ex-lot 763, Part. II, 10th May 2000 and the 'Scarlet Japan' cup, ex-lot 390, part. I, 22nd September 1999. Condition Report: The famille rose cup has a minute restored rim chip and foot rim chip. These can clearly be seen in the Phillips catalogue and were touched up after purchase.
