《说文》：“尊，酒器也。从酋廿，以奉之。”现今所称的尊，指高体的大型或中型容酒器，乃沿用宋代定名。尊的形体可分为有肩大口尊、鸟兽尊和觚形尊三大类。觚形尊又称大口筒形尊，在商代晚期后段到西周早期乃至中期流行，春秋晚期又有短暂的复兴。本件为觚形尊典型器，口沿外侈，长颈，三段式。腹部圆鼓，饰四条扉棱。扉棱两侧处纹饰特别，由单独相对的纹样拼对而成。单独来看，是变体凤纹，两侧结合在一起则又近似于蕉叶纹。尊之腹部亦是两两相对的变体凤纹组成的兽面纹。整器配以雷纹锦地，且纹样为浮雕，技艺精湛，堪为佳品。
