后弘初期，当阿底峡大师将佛法之火重新在西藏点燃的时候，噶当佛塔也随之传入西藏圣地，并在西藏地区兴盛一时。此座佛塔最下部分由仰覆莲瓣组成，莲瓣朴素无纹，简洁大方，且上下交错排列，具有早期帕拉艺术的造型特征。其上覆钵塔身，形如大钟，曲线遒劲有力。塔身之上为须弥座，呈多折角形。十三天自须弥座之上层层收缩，上有华盖和莲苞塔顶覆盖。最上方为日月图案及兽头、牟尼宝珠，装饰繁复，做工华丽，更加衬托出此座佛塔的神圣与庄严。此座噶当佛塔选材精良，造型雅致，装饰繁复，工艺精湛，展现出 14 世纪藏传佛塔的典型特征和独特风韵，更兼其佛塔上方装饰保存完整，是一座收藏与供奉俱佳的噶当佛塔精品。
