A Sassanian silver coin with low-relief crowned profile bust with legend above; set into a later substantial silver finger ring comprising a broad lentoid-section hoop with conical underside, waisted bezel with ellipsoid plaque; bands of hatching, guilloche, ropework and other detailing to the hoop and bezel. 61 grams, 45mm overall, 19.55mm internal diameter (approximate size British T 1/2, USA 9 3/4, Europe 21.89, Japan 21) (1 3/4"). Property of a Mayfair lady; formerly in an important London collection formed since 1965.
