此香筒以白玉镂雕而成，呈直筒状，外壁以通景雕琢亭台楼阁图案，怪石嶙峋，苍松挺立，长阶迎客，亭台楼阁隐约可见。整体纹饰布局自然，极具层次感，运刀流畅，利用镂雕、圆雕、浮雕、打洼等多种碾琢技巧，将山林气韵生动展现，收藏陈设的难得精品。此式镂雕方形玉香筒在北京故宫博物院亦有相似存例，可参阅《紫禁城》2018年9月号，第49页，青玉山水人物图香筒，其形制与本品颇有相似之处，可以资作参照。来源：欧洲藏家旧藏
